The Seattle Seahawks staged a stunning fightback to overcome the Los Angeles Rams in extra time, clinching their spot in the NFL play-offs.

Overcoming a 30-14 hole in the final period, the Seahawks triumphed 38-37 at home, registering their fifth straight win.

While the Rams had already secured a post-season spot earlier on game day, the Seattle team booked their return to the play-offs after a two-year hiatus.

With this result, the Seattle have taken over their Conference standings with a twelve and three mark, supplanting the Los Angeles, who fell to the number five seed with an eleven and four standing.

Signal-caller Darnold threw two picks but regrouped to make two scoring throws, culminating in the tying score to star receiver Smith-Njigba in the extra period.

The visitors held a six-point lead at half-time before Walker burst through for a 55-yard scoring dash for the home side.

Rams defensive back Josh Wallace then took back Darnold's initial interception for a big return, setting up a short touchdown by Corum on the ensuing snap.

In the final stanza, a scoring pass from Stafford to Puka Nacua extended the advantage to 30-14, but Shaheed provided the hope with a 58-yard punt return.

Darnold then found AJ Barner in the end zone, and a successful two-point play sent the game into overtime.

Although Puka Nacua raced in for his another touchdown in overtime, Jaxon Smith-Njigba responded in kind to set up the decisive conversion.
